The Solution

P&D were asked to assist when The Tiletec Group recently moved their business to a business park in Feltham.

P&D dismantled the pallet racking at their small unit in Weybridge and (with the help of an articulated lorry) reinstalled the system in their new home.

In order to increase the amount of palletised storage they had available, P&D sourced some additional components to effectively increase the number of pallets stored by 75%.

After some initial discussion regarding the layout options, a combination of single and double sided runs was agreed upon, maximising the floor space they had and ensuring that the fork lift could operate in a safe manner.

Pallets of tiles are very heavy, so the pallet racking was required to accept up to 3000kgs per level and over 12000kgs per bay. Open boarded timber decks were also supplied and installed to give Tiletec flexibility in how they stored their stock items.

Additional safety was provided by column protection to each aisle facing upright and rack end protection.
